The fourth match of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) Saw Guyana Amazon Warriors Trinbago Knight Riders beat with five more wickets with seven more balls, a result that sees them eligible for the 2025 final where they will meet Barbados Royals.
In the result, the knight riders are rooted on the bottom of the table with a third defeat in a row, while the Warriors go on points with Barbados Royals, although they have played a match.
It was a dominant version of the game player, Stafanie Taylor who grabbed the Wicket of Jess Jonassen with the ball and then made a patient 39 out of 44 balls with the bat to break the back of the Run -striking.
The knights won the throw and chose to first hit the Providence Stadium, they regularly lost wickets when Molly Penfold grabbed 4/17 of her four overs to combine Wicket, together with the economical economy.
Jonassen and Dottin provided the resistance for Knight Riders with 51 and 31 respectively. A first WCPL fifty for Jess Jonassen was desperately needed, but a total of 123/7 always felt a little light.
So it proved, despite the losing of the in-shape RealeaNna Grimmond and Bowlode caught at Deandra Dottin, fellow opener Amy Hunter came up with 27 out of 31 and Taylor’s runs turned out to be crucial to get the warriors in sight before she fell to Shikha Pandey with just a handful more needed.
It marks a disappointing campaign for the Knight Riders who will try to win a consolation victory in their last game against the Royals on Tuesday. While the Warriors Royals meet in a rehearsal for the final on Sunday at the same location.
