WBBL|11 starts with a triple header
The WBBL|11 kicks off with a blockbuster triple-header, including a rematch of last season’s final between Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades at Allan Border Field. In addition, Sydney Thunder will take on Hobart Hurricanes, while Perth Scorchers will take on Sydney Sixers in the opening matches.
This season there are eight franchises – Brisbane Heat, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Adelaide Strikers, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes – all competing in a round-robin format with each team playing 10 matches. The regular season, which spans five weeks, ends on December 7, followed by knockout matches leading to the final on December 13 at the home venue of the highest-ranked team.
Jemimah Rodrigues: The Lonely Indian in WBBL|11
Jemimah Rodrigues is the only Indian player retained by Brisbane Heat, making her a highly anticipated return after a stellar performance in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Notable absences, however, include Deepti Sharma and Smriti Mandhana, who are not participating this season, creating space for emerging talent.
