Team India Openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma were involved in a verbal exchange with Pakistan Pacer Haris Rauf during the Super Four collision between the two teams in the Asia Cup 2025. Rinku Singh intervened to get rid of Gill when Rauf tried to challenge the Indian open.
India continued their dominance over Pakistan in T20is. They limited them until 171/5 in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 21. The men in Blue chased the target in 18.5 overs, with ABHISHEK Sharma earned the player of the Match Award for his battle display in the one -sided match.

Abhishek Sharma hit Shaheen Afridi for a six on the first ball of the chase. The tension escalated over in the fifth, when Haris Rauf exchanged words with both Abhishek and Shubman Gill, as a result of which referee Gazi Sohel entered.

Rauf shared a few words with Abhishek early in the superior. Gill hit a pull -shot on the last ball and responded with a glare. Abhishek closed verbally from the end of the non-striker and the exchange quickly took intensified as the two parties came face to face before they were separated by civil servants.
While broadcasters missed the full fight to cut to commercials, a new viral clip later revealed that Rinku Singh Gill dragged away from the confrontation. Rinku and Harshit Rana had entered the field with drinks for the batters.
The images also showed that the referee discussed with Pakistan skipper Salman Agha and Afridi while Rauf walked back to collect his cap. The incident has attracted attention to social media.

Abhishek Sharma called player of the game for his knock
The team guided by Suryakumar Yadav started the Super Four stage with a victory of six wicket. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill have added 105 runs for the first Wicket. Abhishek insisted 74 runs of 39 balls, including six four and five sixes, while Gill collected 47 runs of 28 balls with eight limits.
By the time Abhishek fell in the 13th, the game was already sealed in favor of India. Pakistan Bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf struggled to make an impact. Afridi went Wicketless while he spent 40 points. Rauf took two late wickets, but came too late to change the outcome.
Pakistan will then be against Sri Lanka on Tuesday 23 September in a must-win meeting, while India will compete against Bangladesh on Wednesday 24 September.

After the game, ABHISHEK Sharma said that his aggressive batting was a response to Pakistan’s provocation. Sharma stated that he used it as a way to ‘give medication’ after he felt restless because of their approach.
“Today it was very simple, the way in which they (Pakistan players) came to us for no reason, I didn’t like it at all and this is the only way (his aggressive batting) that I could give medicine,” said Abhishek in the presentation after the match.
The 25-year-old is the leading Run-Getter in the tournament, with 173 points in four innings with an average of 43.25 and with a success rate of 208.43, including a fifty. He scored 708 points in 20 T20iinings with an average of 35.40 and a success rate of 197.21, including two centuries and three fifties.
