In the video clip circulating online, Rohit can be seen reacting angrily when several fans surrounded him and tried to shake his hand. The Indian batsman pointed his fingers at the fans, looking visibly upset, and asked them to step back and make way for him. While he initially greeted one of the fans, the situation escalated moments later when others crowded around him, provoking a violent reaction.

Rohit had reportedly traveled to Jamnagar along with his family to celebrate his daughter Samaira’s birthday. The Nagpur-born cricketer was returning to Mumbai after the private family event when the incident took place.

On the cricket front, the star player will be back in action later this month when Team India will play a three-match ODI series against New Zealand, with the first ODI scheduled for January 11 in Vadodara.

The right-handed batsman had an impressive 2025 as number one. 1-ranked ODI batsman in the ICC rankings. Last year he averaged 50 in the format with two centuries and six fifties and won the Champions Trophy as captain, taking the lead with a Player of the Match performance in the final.
