Washington Sundar joins Hampshire for the last two district championship matches

The Indian all -rounder Washington Sundar will join Hampshire for the last two rounds of the Rothesay County Championship.

De Rose and Crown have confronted with Somerset on the ground of Cooper Associates County, Taunton from 15-18 September with ruling champions Surrey who will visit Utilita Bowl from 24-27 September.

Sundar, 25, was part of the test team of India, who came across England this summer in an exciting series of five games.

He scored 284 points on average 47 with a first century in Old Trafford when India saved the game.

Delighted

Giles White, director of Cricket, said: “We are delighted to bring Washington to the club for the County Championship.

“He had an excellent series against England this summer and he will play a key role with two major games against Somerset and Surrey.”

The all -rounder has cricket 40 times in first class, of which 13 test competitions, and has scored more than 1800 points on an average of 34.
