In collaboration with head coaches and athletic administrative staff, assistant coaches are practices to teach, encourage and develop for student athletes and game techniques. Responsible for developing athletes insight into the right nutrition, personal health and
Safe power development. Learns 2-3 courses every year physical education. Identifies and recruits athletic and academically qualified student athletes, scouts, manages team trips, organizes community service activities and maintains parent and alumni communication. Coaches will show commitment to the W&L philosophy by emphasizing academic priorities for student athletes and the importance of good citizenship on and outside the playing field.

Essential functions:

  • Coaches team members individually and in groups, and demonstrates game techniques. Manages designated areas for skill development or groups of positions. Develops and recommends strategy, learns theoretical skills and position assignments.
  • Plan coaching and practice sessions in accordance with the conference and university regulations.
  • Teaches 2-3 courses every year physical education for physical education for the criteria for graduating students. Replacement teaches if necessary when requested by head coach and director of PE.
  • Promote the athletics program and tennis through community events, camps and speaking in public. Learns atletic skills and development through local youth programming.
  • Mentors and advises student athletes on personal health, strength training and nutrition.
  • Recreases the quality of potential student athletes and ensures timely submission of their academic data for admission.
  • Ensures compliance with all association, conference and university rules by athletes and support staff.
  • Communicates consistently with head coaches, administration and colleagues about program goals, status and needs.
  • Schedules and manages team trips, including accommodations, transport and meal schemes in accordance with budgetary limitations.
  • Serves as an event manager for home games.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree and collegial playing experience are preferred.
  • Must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for student athletes, as well as the importance of good citizenship on and outside the playing field.
  • Role models appropriate behavior and behavior to support the image and reputation of the athletics program.
  • Strong understanding of different coaching techniques and a willingness to learn new instruction methods.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical requirements:

 Fingering: picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, mainly with fingers instead of with the whole hand or arm as when handling.

 repeated movements: making substantial movements (movements) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
 Walking: going on foot to perform tasks, especially for long distances or from one work location to another.
 Standing: stay upright on the feet, especially for long -term periods.

Working conditions: The employee is subject to both environmental conditions: activities take place inside and outside.

Types of work: Lightwork: occasionally exert strength up to 20 pounds, and/or up to 10 pounds often, and/or a negligible amount of power to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls has to make an effort of forces that are greater than that for sedentary work and the employee usually has, the task is assessed for light work.

Exempt, full -time, eligible benefits

Minimum wage:
$ 38,000.00 – Pay proportionate with experience
