The quality of 13 Lapin Grove, Wandana Heights impressed buyers.
A Wandana Heights home that caught the eye of Geelong Cats player Shannon Neale has sold for $1.15 million over the holiday period.
The leading AFL forward inspected the three-bedroom split-level house on Lapin Grove 13 different times.
But Ray White, Highton listing agent Ben Powe, said it was eventually sold to an older buyer from out of town who wanted to be closer to friends, family and the Barwon Valley golf course.

With no need for a lawn mower on the 550 m² property, it offers the ultimate lifestyle.
“He looked in old Highton, near the river, but couldn’t find a newer, quality house,” Mr Powe said.
“He didn’t know much about Wandana Heights so he spent quite a bit of time looking at other properties and exploring the area, but he likes the walking trails there and it’s obviously quite close to Barwon Valley, so it just felt right for him.”
The house sold at the high end of the asking price of $1.08 million to $1.18 million.
Built by Signature Homes, it features living rooms on both levels, each with a gas fireplace and access to an outdoor entertainment area.
The living room has a sloping ceiling and a wooden floor.
The kitchen has a butler’s pantry and a glass back wall.
The ensuite has his and her vanities.
The main open plan area features a sloping ceiling, electric blinds and a modern, fully electric kitchen.
Mr Powe said the house was beautifully finished and presented, but there were steep stairs which were not suitable for everyone.
“It probably wouldn’t be suitable for older people and the rear garden was quite small so might not be ideal for families, so it was always going to be a particular buyer,” he said.
Wandana Heights rebounded strongly in 2025, ending the year as a million-dollar suburb.
PropTrack data shows the average house price rose 13.2 per cent to $1.052 million in the 12 months to December.
