Wahoo Trackr HR Monitor Review | The bright belt that connects with everything

We know that chest tires are the gold standard for training per heartbeat. Because HR is a metric that I like to use, it was time to view the Wahoo Trackr to go directly alongside all the other fun Wahoo equipment that we have tested. You may remember last month that we told you about the Wahoo Kickr Treadmill That can automatically adjust your pace based on where you are on the belt. And in a super exciting twist mating on your watch, so that you get exact training data.

The next step in this process, heart rate!

With the Wahoo TrackrNow your treadmill session will receive accurate heart rate information and accurate round splits, etc.

Wahoo Trackr -overview

You may think that all chest straps are the same, but there are actually variations in functions. The trackr is particularly rechargeableInstead of having the old school cell battery that you have to replace.

One of the functions that I like about charging are the lights that give me an idea where it is in the process and in the Wahoo app I can see exactly how much battery it has before I ever start a training. Nothing annoys me more than to be halfway and to realize that a monitor stopped.Wahoo Trackr Garmin

Initially I came up with a number of problems to get the trackkr to combine with my Garmin. It appears that I needed a replacement and customer service was great to walk through the potential solutions before I sent a new unit.

That unit was immediately linked and we were on our way to the races, so to speak. We were really on our way to the treadmill for different training sessions to see how fit and tracking were doing.Wahoo Trackr -ProblemsThe second function that the Trackr makes different from many other models is the possibility that at the same time runs a maximum of 3 connections.

I admit that I tried to think that I would need. I am connected to the Wahoo Treadmill, who will feed data to my Garmin or I am connected to my Garmin, so that it records immediately … I can also connect to the Wahoo app that helps when I use that screen to perform a specific route on the treadmill.

But the 3rd escapes me at the same time. So I’m not sure if that function is worth the costs, but I am waiting for a triathlete or another sport to tell me how they would use it!

Of course you can also combine it with another watch that Bluetooth or Ant+uses, so it is a universal HR monitor.

  • The battery life for 100 hours
  • Rechargeable with USB-C
  • Up to 3 Bluetooth connections at the same time (connects with your watch and treadmill at the same time!)
  • Ant+
  • Water rating Ipx7 (great to sweat, not to swim)
  • Can be used for HRV -tracking
  • No data storage
  • Available for $ 89.99

Fast

Pros

  • Rechargeable battery
  • 3 Simultaneous Bluetooth connections
  • HRV -Tracking

Disadvantage

  • Higher price point for a non-swimming model
  • Unknown use for rechargeable battery still
  • No data storage

Getting started you have to charge the Trackr to ease him. After that, setting up is sufficient to register HR with the skin contact and start working.

Once you have switched it off for about 2 minutes, it goes to the sleep mode, so that the battery does not only try to send continuously. If you are a super jersey like me, then it is a good idea to disconnect the pod from the belt, so that there is no false positive reading that can run the battery.

Another nice function, it uses the same cord as Shokz OpenRun Pro 2! Tell me you can’t use one cord, it’s probably one of my bigger annoyances while traveling.

Wear the trackr

One of the reasons why many of you will not use an HR monitor is comfort. What can I say, I know it is a potentially abrasive problem, especially in the summer.

But I will say that this belt is much softer than others I use (perhaps because it is new and not stiff with sweat Ewww). It found it easy to adjust to get the right cozy, so that it is right on the breastbone and does not really go around while I run.Wahoo Trackr ReviewAnd of course you have to dampen the pads a little before you start the training to get the sensor to pick up your HR before you start sweating.

During the run I never noticed problems with HR that records or skips the recording. This usually comes down to maintaining good contact and sometimes little moisture on the belt. I sweat enough to do that.

So far, this bright belt holds well and we are happy with the overall comfort and the fit.

Do you need 3 connections at the same time?

Have you tried the trackr?
