WA Health has completed the first phase of its long -term electronic medical file (EMR) overhaul, which migrates 44 million documents to a digital system.
The government went with the digital medical file system in August after a data migration effort of six years.
The system, which is supplied with a few registration and a virtual desktop infrastructure, is part of an investment of $ 247 million to modernize the WA Health medical file system.
“This important milestone is about modernizing and improving health care in our state,” said Health Minister Meredith Hammat.
“West -Australia is geographically the greatest health care jurisdiction in the world, and these technologies help us bring them closer together and improve patient care.”
Feeded by NTT Australia, the single registration system on map offers access to approximately 90 clinical applications.
The WA government has assigned $ 104 million in the State Budget of 2024-25 for the rollout of the digital medical record system and a single signing to improve interoperability between clinical systems.
The digital investment is part of a wider $ 1.2 billion financing package to increase the capacity of the public hospital and to modernize digital infrastructure in the state’s health system.
