Kalamazoo, Mich.-de Kalamazoo-Vleugels, Echl branch of the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League, announced that goalkeeper Hunter Vorva signed a contract for the 2025-26 season.
Vorva, 29, starts his fourth professional season and comes from a 2024-25 campaign with a return to the K-Wings in December after the start of the year with the Elite Ice Hockey League’s Nottingham Panthers.
The resident of Kalamazoo appeared last season in 15 games for the K-Wings and posted a 7-3-2 record, together with a 2.75 goals-to-average and a .917 savings percentage. Vorva also took home the Warrior/Echl goalkeeper of the Week Award at the beginning of March. Before Vorva kept to the wings, Vorva made two performances with Nottingham, with a 3.85 goals against average and .922 savings percentage.
In 2023-24, Vorva enjoyed a Breakout season, 20-14-0 and finished second in the Echl in Goal Hand average (2.51) and third in savings percentage (.920) with three shutouts.
Vorva’s first joined the K-Wings in 2022-23, when he finished fourth in the Echl for Save percentage (.919) and was sixth bound in goals against average (2.61) over 28 games.

Before he came to the K-Wings, the Marian University product was suitable for the Huntsville Destroy of the SPHL, compiled a 22-8-2 record, 1.93 Goals against average EN .934 SAVE percentage in 32 games on the way to the name 2021-22 SPHL target defender of the year and the deserving of the first-Team of the year-Team. He led the competition in both goals against average and savings percentage that season.
Vorva has also made stops with the Cleveland Monsters and Marseille of the American Hockey League of the France2 League.
