Former Pakistani cricket player Ahmed Shehzad believes that constant comparisons with Virat Kohli played an important role in the decline of Babar Azam in form. Shehzad says that these parallels have created unnecessary pressure, making Babar more difficult to perform at its best.
Babar’s last century came in the Asia Cup 2023 against Nepal, where he scored 151 of 131 balls. Since then he has gone 72 innings on formats without a hundred, with a management of 2,139 runs on an average of 31.45 with 18 1950s.
His struggles are most clearly in the recent series, including scores of 0 and 9 in the ODIs against West India, and he even lost his place in the T20i side of Pakistan.
“When things went well, people performed campaigns that compare players. Now, when performances are not there, they say,” Do not compare players. ” WHY?
Shehzad praised Kohli as the striking fittings and athlete of this generation and said that he cannot even be compared to Mrs. Dhoni, despite the success of Dhoni as a captain.
According to him, such elevated comparisons have set unrealistic expectations for Babar.
