To be clear, there has never been a link that connects Crosby with the Maple Leafs. The majority of trade speculation has the captain from the Penguins to the Colorado Avalanche or the Montreal Canadiens. That said, Crosby seeing in a Maple Leafs sweater arouses some wild emotions from hockey fans.

With the penguins that are confronted with questions about a possible rebuilding and Crosby who enters his 21st NHL season, some people wonder if the future Hall of Famer could end his career elsewhere. In Toronto? After the Mitch Marner team lost? Say that it is not.
Crosby, 37, would fit well with the Maple Leafs. After another strong season with 33 goals and 91 points, the Leafs are looking for a high-end star to replace Marner’s production. Toronto is well located in the middle (Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Nicolas Roy and Scott Laughton) but they would like to move someone if Crosby would entertain the idea to participate in their schedule.

The Jersey editing led to a wide range of reactions from fans -especially Leafs supporters. “A legend who goes to the hockey -mecca. Is logical to me,” wrote a commentator. Another wrote: “I am a fan of Leafs. I can’t even get used to this. He is a penguin for life.”
“This is one of the few reasons why people hate our leaf fans,” laughed a user. “Crosby in a Leafs sweater would go to Montreal or the AVS if he ever leaves the pens.”
Others were less amused: ‘Yuck’, a person answered. Another fan joked: “still not beyond the 1st round”, referring to the Playoff wrestings of the Leafs.
Despite the buzz there is no indication that Crosby Pittsburgh will soon leave. But as a fan noted: “Never say never. Sidney is at the back of his career, and Wayne Gretzky was a St. Louis blue at some point.”
