According to multiple reports, Utah Jazz guard Vince Williams is feared to have suffered a torn ACL during Monday night’s game against the Houston Rockets.

The injury occurred in the second quarter, causing immediate concern among teammates and coaches as he left the game.

Williams will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to confirm the full extent of the damage, although early indications point to a serious injury.

Head coach Will Hardy expressed his concerns when addressing reporters after the game. “It doesn’t look great,” Hardy said.

The injury occurred after contact with Rockets forward Tari Eason, who delivered a hip check that knocked Williams to the ground.
Hardy was critical of the play afterward, saying, “That’s not basketball.”

Before the injury, Williams was a steady contributor for Utah this season, averaging 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists while providing versatility in the backcourt.

Williams also has a team option worth $2.5 million for next season, meaning the outcome of his medical evaluation could factor into the organization’s future roster decisions.
