Earlier this year, Makhachev left his lightweight title to go to Welterweight, where he is expected to challenge the newly beaten 170 pound King, Jack della Maddalena. No official announcements have been made, although the Mentor of Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, suggests that their expected title will lead the annual pit stop of the UFC in Madison Square Garden in November.
In general, the ‘Dagestani Destroyer’ is an impressive 16-1 in the Octagon, including highlights against Charles Oliveira, Alexander Volkanovski, Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano.
With such a CV it should not be a surprise that Makhachev is already trending as a favorite of 2 to 1 to beat Maddalena and participate in the very short list of Tweedivisie UFC champions.
