The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a video on Monday with an illegal alien suspected of photographing an Off-Duty Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer who is dumped outside of a Bronx hospital by another suspect.
The video shows a man in a red shirt who drives a black moped in what seems to be a hospital bay and then pushes a passenger in a white shirt on the floor. The passenger cuts the moped before the director fled the scene.
DHS said in a message on X that the video shows the suspects on the same moped that was also recorded on video at the location of the recordings. “These people will face the full weight of the American legal system,” added DHS in the post.
Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez is accused of shooting the CBP officer during an attempted theft in Fort Washington Park Laat on Saturday evening. The CBP officer hung around in the park with a companion when the police said that Nunez and another suspect performed the moped and tried to rob the officer. The officer brought out his own service weapon to defend himself. Both Nunez and the officer were shot several times.

The officer, not mentioned, was shot in the face and arm. He is expected to recover.
Nunez illegally entered the US at the border between Arizona in 2023. He was released in the country under the Biden administration. At the time of his arrest for the shooting, he had an active order for kidnapping in Massachusetts and several previous crime arrests, according to DHS.
The second person was arrested on Monday in connection with the shooting.
Cristian Aybar Berroa of the Dominican Republic, who “entered the United States illegally on 19 June 2022, and was released in the country on Interim -conditional release pending his immigration hearing,” was taken in custody, said on Monday at his arrest.
He is suspected of committing various crimes during the conditional release, including 2nd degree reckless threat in May 2023 and 4th degree Felony Grand Larceny and Petit Larceny in March and April 2024.

In February of this year, Berroa was arrested for 2nd degree reckless threat, reckless driving and for driving without a driver’s license, according to DHS.
“On June 12, 2025, Berroa guilty of Petit Larceny promised to the Supreme Court of Bronx County. This plea was made to consolidate all his earlier arrests, and he was conditionally dismissed and allowed to roam through the streets of NYC,” said it too. “A judge ordered Berroa a final assignment of removal on January 3, 2023.”
