Video review: Risky Overlapping attacks – Coaching Volleyball

Here is an exercise – or rather a combination of exercises – that is an injury that waits.

Don’t get me wrong. I think there are some pretty good elements here.

  • Pass a live serve
  • Deposit a live pass
  • Transition from pass to attack
  • Hit a block.
  • Defense around a block

I just don’t know why the serve and the setter that are hit in the libero should actually happen at the same time.

Yes, it keeps people active.

But still, you could falter things a bit to prevent a defender from having hit balls in a rapid order of very different points – with a limited or no possibility of reading the second. And excludes the risk of collisions of the passer -by/libero.

You would probably have to let someone other than the Setter in that case hit the libero.

Also, what is the focus for the MB? Do they only block on the ball of the Setter? If so, the OH will not get the more likely scenario of a double block when attacking a ball from the system. Maybe you can use two MBs?
