VIDEO | Michael Bisping Expresses ‘No Sympathy’ For Fighters Losing Weight Just Seconds Before UFC 324 Fighter Collapses During Weigh-In

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping found himself at the center of an ironic moment when a scary incident unfolded during the UFC 324 weigh-in.

UFC 324 marks the promotion’s long-awaited return after a hiatus of more than a full month. Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett will fight for the interim lightweight title in the main event, on a card with many top names on the prelims and the front of the main card.

While fans, fighters and pundits are understandably excited about UFC 324 this weekend, fight week had a horrific moment during Friday’s official weigh-in.

UFC bantamweight Cameron Smotherman looked severely dehydrated and exhausted as he successfully weighed in (135.5 lbs) for his scheduled fight against former The ultimate fighter winner Ricky Turcios. As Smotherman left the stage to his left, he blacked out and fell face first before UFC personnel and his teammates carried him out of the venue.

Smotherman vs. Turcios was quickly canceled and Smotherman continues to undergo treatment in Las Vegas. As of this writing, the UFC has not provided an update on Smotherman’s condition, although teammate Adrian Yanez recently told journalist Ariel Helwani that he is “feeling much better” and that CT scans and X-rays came back clear.

Just seconds before Smotherman collapsed, UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping discussed failed weight cuts TNT Sportsin a now viral clip. Although Bisping said he had “no sympathy” for fighters struggling to lose weight, he expressed genuine concern for Smotherman while he was being treated by staff.
