Information that leads to the arrest of an accused double murderer will yield a reward of $ 1 million, as the police argue for public help to find the most wanted man in the nation.
Dezi Freeman remains on the run after they have reportedly shot two officers during a fatal confrontation in Porepunkah, about 300 km northeast of Melbourne, on 26 August.
There have been no official observations from Freeman and the police, believe that he might receive help from people within his network.

Victoria Police announced the reward of $ 1 million on Saturday and noted that the money would be paid for the arrest of Freeman, rather than conviction such as the usual practice for reward bonsters.

Murder team detective inspector Dean Thomas said that the “life-changing” amount was the biggest reward for an arrest in Victorian history.
“This figure recognizes the severity of this violent insult and our dedication to find Freeman as quickly as possible, so that he is no longer a risk for the broader community,” he said.

“We believe that this research will only be resolved by the help of members of the public … These can be observations of Freeman, information that you hear in your local communities, even suspicious activities on your property.”

Chief Commissioner Mike Bush said on Thursday that the police remained focused on finding accused murderer Dezi Freeman and stated that the case must be “resolved”. Credit: Delivered/PR image

‘My own superhero’

The reward was announced a day after the police separated a fallen comrade in a genuine funeral.
Thousands of mourning people lived on Friday at the funeral of Senior Constable Vadim de Waart-Hottart on the Victoria Police Academy.

The 34-year-old was remembered as a smiling protector with a permanent fascination for Batman.

The mother and father of the killed police officer, Carolina De Waart and Alain Hottart, traveled from Belgium for the solemn service, while his brother Sacha de Waart-Hottart supplied tears.
He described his brother with blue eyes as a “sunbeam” that only wanted to make people happy and laugh.
“He was my own superhero. He was my Batman,” said the Hottart.
The police air wing carried out a viaduct, because more than 1000 officers stood the block for a long honorary guard for the hearse that his body wore that will be cremated.

Leading senior agent Neal Thompson, 59, who was the second dead officer, will be laid on Monday to rest.

The police continue to search for the alleged murderer of the couple, with more than 100 property searched in the Alpine area, although bad weather has impeded the efforts.
More than 450 police are dedicated to the search every day.
The Australian army is called in to help and offers a planning specialist and air monitoring activa at the request of the Victoria police.
The police do not rule out that Freeman is assisted by a specific person, given the heavy site of the area in which he is located.
