In recent years, social media abuse has become a major issue in tennis, as countless players have complained about their Instagram DMs being flooded with all kinds of negative and insulting messages after losses. In most cases, such messages come from people who invested money in a tennis match and lost it.
Unless a player deactivates Instagram or other social media accounts, there is no way for them to stop receiving messages – good or bad. Recently, however, more and more players have started taking a screenshot of the messages they receive and sharing them with the public. This often leads to the public seeing the names of the people who insult players.
Mboko’s coach Tauziat: These people have no brains
“The people who do that have nothing better to do in their lives, that’s what players need to understand – these people have no brains! Tauziat, a former eight-time WTA champion and former world number three, has also urged tennis coaches and staff to ensure they do everything possible to protect their players.

Meanwhile, Tauziat has already had plenty of success with Mboko after guiding the 19-year-old to the Montreal and Hong Kong titles this year, as well as a career-high ranking of No. 18 in the world.
