The bears still have to settle for who will be the backup of Quarterback Caleb Williams. Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum both looked sharp in the training camp, and although Bagent had taken big steps in the last two seasons, Keenum is far from ready to accept only a mentorrol.

Keenum goes in his 14th season at the age of 37 and has the advantage that he has a much larger mental database than Bagent, but has to prove that he also has the arm and agility for the position.

“I feel the fire of competition with whatever I do,” said Keenum about the competition. “I compete with those guys, and I hope that that also brings the fire to them.”

While Keenum’s knowledge gives him a lead over Williams and Bagent in the meeting room, he folds to keep track of the twenty seams on the field, as well as on their phones.

“I like to hang around with boys who are very young and see what the newest Tiktok -things are or whatever,” Keenum said laughing. ‘I miss a part of the [Instagram] They send each other because I don’t have it on my phone, but they fill in me before meetings. “

Keenum was on a injured reserve at the Texans last season. He has not played extensively since he appeared in 10 games for the commanders in 2019.

Bagent started four games like Rookie in 2023, but only played 13 Snaps last season.
