The bears still have to settle for who will be the backup of Quarterback Caleb Williams. Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum both looked sharp in the training camp, and although Bagent had taken big steps in the last two seasons, Keenum is far from ready to accept only a mentorrol.
Keenum goes in his 14th season at the age of 37 and has the advantage that he has a much larger mental database than Bagent, but has to prove that he also has the arm and agility for the position.
“I feel the fire of competition with whatever I do,” said Keenum about the competition. “I compete with those guys, and I hope that that also brings the fire to them.”
