TMZ reported that she was transported from her home to a hospital around 8 a.m. Saturday.
After dropping out of college, she moved to New York to become an acting professional under her mother’s maiden name. In 1968, she landed a role in the Broadway production of Herand attracted attention by refusing to strip for the play’s infamous nude scene.
After establishing herself as Woody Allen’s co-star in Broadway’s in 1969 Play it again, Sam Keaton starred in The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather Part II (1974).
However, it was Alvy Singer Annie Hall which really put her in the top echelon of film actresses, including as a fashion icon for her wide-brimmed hats, men’s shirts, ties and vests, trousers. It led to a Academy Awardand a Golden Sphere Award.
Other movies included Sleeper (1973), Love and death (1975).
Mr. Goodbar (1977), Interiors (1978), Manhattan (1979) Red (1981), Mrs Soffel (1984), Crimes of the heart (1986), Radio days (1987), Father of the bride (1991), Manhattan murder mystery (1993) with Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn in the big hit The First Women’s Club (1996), Marvin’s room (1996), and Jack Nicholson Something has to give (2003).
She directed episodes of China Beach, Twin Peaks and appeared in it Mannix, Love American Style, Northern Lights, The FBI, The Godfather Saga, The Young Pope. Keaton received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for it Amelia Earhart: The Last Flight.
Keaton received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute in 2017.
