USTA Florida invites everyone to the Black History Month AMPLIFY event during the Delray Beach Open – USTA Florida

USTA Florida will host an AMPLIFY community activation in Pompey Park on February 15, bringing together tennis, culture and connection during Black History Month. The event takes place the day after Kids Day during the 2026 Delray Beach Open and extends the celebration beyond the stadium and into the heart of the community.

Centered around the theme of Celebrating Legacy, Empowering the Future, Building Community, the free event is designed to highlight excellence and opportunity while creating meaningful engagement through tennis. The event welcomes participants of all ages and abilities for a day that combines sport, education and community impact.

The core of the activation is a free tennis clinic led by tennis professionals. The clinic is open to players of all levels and will focus on fun, fundamentals and inclusivity, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to get on the field and experience the game. By removing barriers to access, the clinic reflects USTA Florida’s commitment to making tennis accessible and welcoming to all.

In addition to the on-field activities, participants will have the opportunity to listen to an impactful panel discussion with Black leaders, coaches, athletes and professionals. Panelists will share personal stories and insights into breaking barriers in tennis and sports, leadership and career paths, and the importance of community representation and involvement. The discussion will provide inspiration and practical guidance for youth, families and aspiring leaders, reinforcing the role tennis can play in opening doors both on and off the court.

This will also highlight a variety of community suppliers, giving participants the opportunity to explore and support local Black-owned businesses and organizations. Vendors will offer apparel, art, accessories and resources focused on healthcare, wellness, education and community services.

Pompey Park also has a deep history in Florida, home to Coco Gauff’s hometown, which was dedicated in her name after her victory at the 2023 US Open.

Joining the Delray Beach Open and honoring Black History Month, the AMPLIFY activation at Pompey Park represents a celebration of legacy, commitment to future generations and a reminder of the power of tennis to bring people together.
