The fourth and final exhibition match of the US men’s national team has been decided.
Africa’s Senegal will face Mauricio Pochettino’s men at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 31, US Soccer announced on Thursday. The match will serve as the USMNT’s 2026 Continental Clasico match.
Senegal will be the USMNT’s penultimate opponent before World Cup matches begin in June. The USMNT will host Germany at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois on June 6 for their farewell match.
“We are so happy to have such a great team in Senegal as our fourth opponent in the pre-tournament matches,” Pochettino said. “In the year leading up to the World Cup we will have played at least one team from five different confederations, which is incredibly valuable for our preparations. We look forward to a great crowd in Charlotte.”
Senegal currently sits at number 19 in the latest FIFA rankings and remained undefeated in CAF World Cup qualifying. They recorded seven wins while allowing just three goals in ten games. They are led by star strikers Sadio Mane and Ismaila Sarr.
It will be the first-ever meeting between the USMNT and Senegal in international action.
The USMNT will also face Portugal and Belgium during the March international period, which are the next overall matches on the schedule.
