Now that the NFL season is officially over, sports bettors will be taking a closer look at the hardwood and the current DraftKings Promo Code gives new users $300 in bonus bets if your first $5 bet wins. A 10-game NBA slate is scheduled for Monday, including the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder at 10 PM ET. Both teams will be without their top scorers, with Thunder guard and reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (foot) and Lakers superstar guard Luka Doncic (hamstring) out, but NBA legend LeBron James is not on the injury report and the Lakers will be without Doncic in a 103-97 win over the Warriors on Saturday. Despite SGA being out, the Lakers are still the underdogs, and the SportsLine Projection Model sees value in that. The model has the Lakers as 6.5-point underdogs as one of the best bets in the NBA on Monday at DraftKings. The over/under for total points scored in Lakers vs. Thunder is 222.5.
The model also has the Miami Heat as a 7.5-point favorite against the Utah Jazz, and one of SportsLine’s top experts has a college basketball bet on Xavier against No. 22 St. John’s at 6:30 PM ET. St. John’s (-15.5) vs. Xavier (-110)
Normally, we’d be hesitant to go with a team after such a thrilling win at St John’s on Friday against Big East leader UConn. But not tonight, because we suspect there is little chance that the Red Storm (nine wins in a row) will suddenly fall flat against Papa Rick Pitino’s son Richard and his Xavier, who two weeks ago already had a good shot at the Johnnies in Cincinnati and scared Papa in an 88-83 St John’s. escape,” said legendary SportsLine expert Bruce Marshall. “However, the Musketeers have suffered some tough losses since then and have been outclassed several times on the Big East trail, and dealing with the Storm’s excellent balance, a nearly 85 ppg offense, and prolific frontliners Zuby Ejifor and Bryce Hopkins is shaping up to be difficult.” Back to St. John’s to report here on DraftKings:
Warmth (-7.5) vs. jazz (-112)
The Heat is coming off a 132-101 win over the Wizards on Saturday, and like Washington, Utah isn’t exactly playing the most inspiring basketball in a 16-37 season. The Jazz are 2-12 over their last fourteen games, with eight of the losses coming by double figures. Meanwhile, five of the Heat’s last six wins have come by double digits. While the Heat are just 6-5 in their last eleven games, it’s hard to imagine them losing outright to the Jazz, and given the way their wins have gone lately, the model estimates their chances of winning by a larger margin. Bam Adebayo had 22 points and eight rebounds on Saturday, one of seven Heat players to finish with at least 10 points. The model projects that heat will be covered in 67% of simulations. Back the Heat to cover at DraftKings here:
Lakers (+6.5) vs. Thunder (-105)
The Thunder have struggled without SGA, while the Lakers have continued to win without Luka Doncic early in their current absence. The Thunder are 1-2 with SGA sidelined due to his current foot injury, while the Lakers rallied from behind when Doncic left with a hamstring injury to beat the 76ers on Thursday. Then the Lakers defeated the Warriors on Saturday. Austin Reaves had 35 points on Thursday and is averaging 26.1 points per game this season. LeBron James continues to showcase his greatness, including posting 20 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists on Saturday with Doncic out. James has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games. The Lakers host OKC on Monday and are 14-8 in Los Angeles this season. The model projects the Lakers will compete with the NBA-leading Thunder, which SGA lacks, with the Lakers accounting for 63% of simulations. Support the Lakers to cover DraftKings here:
