The 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase (WJSS) Started on Sunday afternoon, July 27, with Game 1 between USA White and Finland. Team USA was split into two teams, white and blue, for the first few days of the showcase while they limited their selection. The United States started with goalkeeper Nick Kempf, but in the middle of the second Caleb Heil took over. Finland remained with the same goalkeeper during the game: Kim Saarinen.

Team USA prompted an early lead, but Finland fought back and led the lead for the end of the first. The competition was a large part of the second bound, but in the last period the United States found a way to get ahead. They protected their lead and came out The 5-2 victory over Finland.

The match started with speed when both teams fought hard and physically until the United States first arrived on the board with a goal from Ryker Lee. He was assisted by James Hagens to take a 1-0 lead. However, it was not long when Finland stormed the ice back and scored to bind it 1-1. The goal was lifted by Roope Vesterinen and he was assisted by Heikki Ruohonen and Vikka Monons. Finland built up that momentum when they added a second goal before the first period ended to take a 2-1 lead. The goal was scored by Jasper Kuhta, not supported.
The second period was a bit quieter in terms of goals because there was only one, and it was scored by the United States to bind the match 2-2. Teddy Stiga scored the goal and he was assisted by Dakoda Rheaume-Mullen and Hagens. The rest of the period went through scoreless, but it was pretty physical.
The third period is where the United States showed their talent depth when they scored back-to-back goals to open the period. The first goal was lifted by Shane Vansaghi and he was assisted by Brodie Ziemer and Cullen Potter. The second goal was recorded by Lee, his second of the game, Jack Murtagh and Tanner Henricks helped him. USA White will be back in action on Monday afternoon 28 July to hire the Sweden team. Team Finland will also be back in action on Monday afternoon and they will be confronted with USA Blue.
