Urs Kalecinski was full of fear before he made the switch from classical physique to the open division, but the victory in Milan has shown that he has enough muscles to compete for the main prize of bodybuilding. Now industry icons weigh with support.
The German competitor shocked many with his recent announcement to open from classical to, not least because Chris Bumstead retired, the field in the classic division for men is more open than ever, but “The Miracle Bear” explained that cutting his weight could see how large he could see more and more challenging that. And although Kalecinski entered the Promuscle show of 2025 in Italy, he had no expectations to win so early in his transition. Instead, the big man hoped that the beginning of this new chapter would help him “fall in love with the sport again.” However, the package that the Miracle brought on stage during the weekend was simply too big for the jury members to ignore, and on 7 September he hit his ticket to the MR Olympia competition.

“Your body and frame screamed for muscles and now you can pack as much as you want,” wrote Milos Sarcev via Instagram. “You are in the right place. Huge congratulations.” The performance was not missed by Chris Bumstead, who wrote: “I am not surprised, but still”, before I added a stunning emoji.
In a real proof of sportiness, he was also praised by those who will share the stage with him during the MR Olympia final in Las Vegas. “Congratulations, by brother” wrote William Bonac. “1 shot and it’s a goal. I am even so happy for you, even (although), you are going to make it difficult for us with the ‘O.'” Sam Sulek was almost lost for words and just wrote “Holy S *** t.” However, others were more eloquent. “Choose what makes you feel happy, believe in your dreams and never be afraid,” wrote IFBB Pro and Coach, Giselle Machado. “Congratulations Bro!” wrote Hany Rambod.
