Update of Chief Executive: August 2025 – Table Tennis England

While the summer unfolds, it is a moment to think about what an exciting and inspiring few weeks has been for English table tennis – in our domestic scene, our international ambitions and the growth of our community.

Young leopards roar on the European stage

We are incredibly proud of the young athletes who continue to sparkle on the international stage. Well done for all young players who represented England at the European Youth Championships. There were a number of fantastic versions across the board, including the junior boys who protected promotion to the top of the competition – a proud moment for all involved. Team England has secured 4 last 8 finishes with various other last 16 finishes during the 10 days. Our next step is to learn how to convert the medal competitions into medals!

Huge congratulations to our GB Pathway rising Star, Anna Hursy Van Wales, who has added an international gold, in the singles of the girls under 19, to her impressive recent record.

We were very happy to see Sienna Jetha And Abraham sealed Both deserve Team GB call-ups for the European Youth Olympic Festival.

Congratulations to Amber Lemmon, Assil Sarri, Dimitar Dimitrov and Sinan Sursoy, who have been selected to represent England at the European championships under 13 years old In Sweden in September – a fantastic milestone for our future stars.

Road to London 2026 is gaining strength

Preparations for the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Final 2026 Continue in pace. The first teams have now qualified for London 2026-the start of a trip that will bring the world of April 28,-1 May of 28 April-1 May for the group phase in the iconic Copper Box Arena in the Olympic Park, and the most important draw at prestigious OVO Arena Wembley of 2-10 May.

With the countdown to the WTT -star London and the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Final 2026, Table Tennis England will receive members Priority access to tickets For both events. ITTF hopes week

We were also pleased to welcome ITTF representatives in Sheffield for a site visit World Hopes Week & ChallengeFurther strengthening our role as a hub for global table tennis. We look forward to welcome the best U12 players in the world in Sheffield

New season, new momentum, new members

We have now launched Online membership innovations for the 2025/26 seasonEarly admission has been very positive and we encourage all members to view the updated benefits and prices. As above, it offers a TTE member this season priority access to worlds and Star compassion tickets, so make sure you do a lot of time for the ticket release.

As always, our thanks for the clubs, competitions and volunteers that remain the backbone of our community – and we hope that this year’s membership offer offers even more value and support to those who deliver the sport. We look forward to welcoming everyone in the starter and world championships.

Partnerships

One of the central goals of our Table Tennis United Strategy is to get more young people in our sport. I am therefore very happy that we have confirmed two partnerships in recent weeks that will help us do exactly that.

We have worked together To behave For a partnership that will enable premier clubs to gain access to the Regional Team of Sported, they get access to expert knowledge, financing and income generation opportunities and to programs that contact young people, break through barriers to participation and helping the sport are more inclusive. In addition, the area managers of the England table tennis will collaborate with the supported network that table tennis want to grow in their community, want to bring them in the neighborhood and be brought into the table of the table.

We have also agreed a new partnership GoOne of the largest operators of the UK of dedicated, small -sided football, with 43 sites in the United Kingdom to deliver the financed holiday activities and food (HAF). Management

AGM and annual report

It was good to see that more than 60 members came online for the AGM. We also published our Annual report for 2024/25Summarizing the progress we have made in the past year against our strategy Table Tennis UnitedChallenges that we are confronted with and our vision is progressing.

Update instructions

We continue to update and update our rules, policy and procedures in consultation with relevant committees and stakeholders to ensure that they remain up -to -date and effective for our membership.

Under the ongoing work, in preparation for the beginning of 2025-26 membership year, all competition-related regulations have been updated

Security

One new case has been reported that is being dealt with in addition to the statutory agencies and the hearing of the profession for another case that went before the protective disciplinary panel earlier this year. The team has worked with two other clubs to help them manage cases at a low level within the clubs.

The annual CPSU assessment has taken place and TTE has met the required standards for another year and will prioritize a few areas to renew and update.

The newest Welelfare Officer Webinar was held at the end of June and was again attended with many questions and advice given together with sharing good practices with the clubs present.

With the new season that the team is approaching, it will give more training sessions for coaches and also running sessions for young people and their parents involved in the performance program.

People

Table tennis England has had a busy few months in recruitment, and we are proud to have appointed various positions throughout the organization, both internally and seven new people welcomed since March.

In April, the development team took two interns and expanded their team to record a governance manager. The performance team has seen exciting growth, with new roles that have been internally appointed in learning and development and operations, as well as an extra two team members in coaching (National Pathway) and coach development.

We have also seen a makeover for the engagement team, with an appointment internally for the director of engagement, a new position of marketing and campaign manager and the development of a role internally in digital engagement executive. The Finance & IT team will also soon appoint a new financial manager.

Transgender policy

We want to thank everyone who participated in our transgender policy survey, we have now received more than 2,000 answers, including interest expressions in the next consultation phase, where we will work to collect extra feedback and recommendations from stakeholders and relevant organizations via one-on-one interviews.

We are convinced that the next phase of the consultation will enable us to further understand the potential implications of the policy with regard to transgender and non-bino people in table tennis and to ensure that different perspectives are heard and reflected. Our goal is to create a policy that is informed, respectful and fair. Culture, values and behavior

The working group of Culture & Values formed on the day of all persons has now been met and smaller subgroups formed. The smaller groups have received a series of values developed by all employees and the board during our first meeting in June and will now work on further developing value, our behavior and how we can refine them to TTE and our sport. The working group will come together again in September with the aim of bringing all staff back together to discuss before the end of the year.

Finally, I want to expand my congratulations to the two new ones Honorary Life members, Susie Venner and Tom Purcell, recognized this year Annual general meetingAs well as all those recognized in our annual Honors list. Their contributions to the game have been extraordinary and we are grateful for the impact they have had on making table tennis a better and more hospitable sport.

As always, a big thank you for your constant support for table tennis England. I stay on the road to meet members, clubs and volunteers. I was especially happy to come to everyone for the Yorkshire County Awards Night, visited Halifax TTC, Lillington Free Church AGM/Awards Night, spent a pleasant afternoon with the team at Draycott TTC and got on the table with Colin Wilson and the players at Smash. Thank you for welcoming me.
