A 28-year-old widow was served alcohol and strangled by her ownership trader in the Etawah of Uttar Pradesh after confronting him in his home about the non-filling of her house, despite the fact that they had paid RS 6 Lakh in installments, the police said.
After the murder, the real estate trader dumped her body in the Yamuna, along with a friend.
The victim, Anjali, a mother of two, came in contact with a real estate trader, Shivendra Alia Bala, and paid him RS 6 Lakh in installments for a piece of land.
However, the register of the plot has never been completed. Frustrated, Anjali began to reclaim her money.
On April 7, 2025, Shivendra called her to his home on the pretext to repay her money. Once she arrived, Shivendra, together with his friend, Gaurav, strangled her death after serving Alochol. They then threw her body under a bridge in the Yamuna River.
When Anjali did not return that night, her older sister, Kiran, who suspected cheat, informed the police. Kiran claimed that Shivendra had provided fake documents to her sister and constantly postponing the possession of the conspiracy for two months.
During the investigation, the police found her missing scooter in a burnt state of a drain. After Shivendra was taken into custody on the basis of suspicion, he confessed the murder.
After receiving information about where he had dumped the body, the police sought help from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to find the body of Anjali that several kilometers were discovered downstream.
“The body was found and identified by the family. Based on the confession of the suspect, both Shivendra alias Bala and his friend Gaurav are arrested. We also found the burnt scooter, the car used in the murder,” said high police officer Sanjay Kumar.
