Up T20 League 2025 HIT by Match-fixing scandal, FIR submitted in LuckNow

The current Up T20 League in Luckknow was struck by an attempt at match fixing, in which the police confirm that a FIR was registered after the Kashi Rudras had reported a suspicious approach.

The manager of the team, Arjun Chauhan, received an Instagram message from a called account Vipss_nakrani. The sender posed like a bookmaker and offered RS 1 crore for repair, with RS 50 Lakh as a committee.

Chauhan immediately warned the anti-corruption unit (ACU) of the BCCI, which set up a fall and continued the conversation. The accused was shifting to WhatsApp -Chats and promised immediate payment in cash or dollars. All calls and messages were recorded by the ACU before evidence was presented to the Luckknow Police.

After this, the police registered a case based on articles 318, 319, 112 and 62 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, section 3 of the Public Gambling Act 1867, and section 66d of the IT ACT 2000. An investigation into the conspiracy is now underway.

The UP T20 League, organized in Ekana Stadium, started on August 7 and will end with the final on 6 September. Six teams are part of the competition: Meerut Mavericks, Kanpur Superstars, Kashi Rudras, Gur Gorakhpur Lions, Luckknow Falcons and Noida Kings.

Coincidentally, Kashi Rudras will be confronted in the title collision opposite Meerut Mavericks on Friday, but the focus for now has shifted to taking care of the tournament without further controversy.
