But the weather did not improve. According to the LPGA, host course Pinnacle Country Club was hit on Saturday with another 3.25-inch rain on Saturday.

With more rain on the way Sunday and Monday, the LPGA officially announced that the tournament was canceled on Sunday morning just before 10 am.

“After rating and consulting the golf course with our meteorologist and superintendent, the golf course cannot be played”, read the statement of the LPGA about X. “Based on the weather for the rest of today and the entire day on Monday, it is very unlikely that 36 holes can be taken to make the rest of the Tour. As a result.

The statement continued: “Our partners at Walmart and P&G have generously dedicated themselves to pay more than what is needed in the case of a tournament annulment. The news was especially not welcome for one competitor, in particular, the American veteran Alison Lee.

This week Lee only played in her third pro event – and the second LPGA event – since she was her first son, Levi Todd Kidd, at the end of April, just over four months ago, the birth.

Lee has detailed the struggles she has experienced to prepare for her return to Pro Golf, while she balances a new mother in her press conference before the tournament on Thursday, about which you can read here.

Incredibly Lee shot a seven-under 64 in the first round of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship to bind for the early lead. She was able to get three holes of her second round before the tournament was canceled, so that a birdie was made to keep part of the management at eight.

But with the tournament now canceled, Lee will have to wait another week to try her comeback victory. Even worse, in her long career, Lee still has an LPGA Tour win.
