Uniqlo teases first WTA ambassador, rumors point to Emma Raducanu | Tennis blog for women

Clothing brand Uniqlo is about to enter women’s tennis for the first time and is teasing a mysterious female player as its newest ambassador.

The Japanese brand shared a cryptic post on Instagram, writing: “We are proud to welcome a new face to Uniqlo.” Rather than openly reveal the athlete, Uniqlo opted for intrigue by posting only a cropped image of a female player’s midsection wearing a light blue pleated tennis dress.

Although Uniqlo has yet to confirm its identity, online speculation strongly points to Emma Raducanu. The former US Open champion has long been linked with Nikebut it is widely believed that her clothing contract is expiring, opening the door for a high-profile move.

Earlier this year, This is reported by tennis insider Craig Shapiro That Raducanu’s Uniqlo deal is expected to start at Indian Wellswith figures estimated at $3.5 million per year plus performance-based bonuses. If true, the partnership would mark Uniqlo’s first-ever foray into professional women’s tennis.

For now, Raducanu is still wearing Nike. In her most recent appearance at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, she competed in purple Nike Spring Slam Dress. All eyes will now be on the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, which starts on March 4, 2026 and could serve as the official debut of Uniqlo’s new ambassador.
