After 46 hours of negotiations and a 12-day strike earlier this year, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 On Thursday it announced that it has reached a provisional three -year agreement with King Soopers and City Market.
The agreement was reached during the negotiations held on Tuesday to Thursday, according to a Social Media Post van de Unie.
“We are happy that we have reached a fully recommended provisional agreement with UFCW Local 7,” said a spokesperson for King Soopers and City Market in an e -mail statement at the post.
“With this offer we can place more money in the payslips of our employees and retain affordable health care; while we also protect their pensions for retirement and we want to vote for our employees about it.”
The provisions of the agreement “All profit, no concessions” include fully funded healthcare and pension benefits.
It also did not include cuts on retired health care benefits, wage increases for top interest, grandfad staff and department managers and a lifespan bonus for all employees with at least one year of seniority.
In addition, the agreement introduced a new Test-and-Learn test to study personnel improvements and did not mention any giveaway actions from trade union work to performing companies such as Instacart.
Commentators responded quickly to the announcement of the trade union, with some who applaud the actions of the trade union and asked others about what comes next.
Full details of the agreement will be available at ratification voting meetings. The trade union said they are working on setting dates and locations for those meetings.
In February, about 10,000 King Soopers -employees picked picket lines in 77 stores in Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson Counties, as well as in Boulder and Louisville.
The 12-day strike came to an end after King Soopers and Union Leaders corresponded to a temporary deal that paut the Labor Conflict for 100 days.
The two parties then agreed to extend the peace period until 8 June, according to the Union negotiation updates.
Members of the trade union insisted on the supermarket giant to meet the most important requirements, such as better personnel levels, livable wages and the protection of the health and pension benefits of employees.
Safeway employees, who have been on strike for more than two weeks due to stalled negotiations, are also looking for the same requirements.
UFCW Local 7 shared on social media on Thursday that negotiations with Safeway will be restarted on Friday morning.
