“There are 12 lines so far and six new projects are already under construction to extend the existing lines,” said Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, adding that with Phase 5-A, the Delhi Metro will cover 400 kilometers and be among the top five in the world, serving over 65 lakh commuters every day.

“The extension from Kalindi to Tughlakabad will provide direct Gurugram connectivity to commuters from Noida and Faridabad… This will save us a significant amount of time in the lives of commuters, this will make a big difference,” Mr Vaishnaw said.
“Kartavya Bhawan will be better connected, for those coming to work from neighboring states. This corridor will improve Delhi’s traffic intensity and pollution control,” he added.
“This RK Ashram Marg corridor will connect the Airport Line to the Central Secretariat Station and then to Indraprastha in the Blue Line,” Mr Vaishnaw explained.
