From October 31 to January 18, the artist of Paduli, one of the best known and appreciated contemporary art figures internationally, will in turn celebrate Umbria, his traditions and extraordinary landscapes with a series of initiatives as a result of the collaboration between the national museums of the Perugia-Regional National Museums Umbria.
The project entitled Mimmo Paladino. AnthologicalHe is edited by Costantino d’Orazio, director of the National Museums of Perugia, and Aurora Roscini Vitali, historian of the Art of the National Gallery of Umbria, in collaboration with the artist himself.
The National Gallery of Umbria, which welcomes a core of more than 40 works by Italian and foreign public museums and private collections, will repeat the fifty years of his career of Maestro Campano, of the photographic experiments of the 1940s in the 1980s in the 1980s.
Cornerstones of the expressive figure, such as Silent I am retired to paint a photo (1977), the first figurative painting, will alternate with interventions that question the “architectural” painting potential, which continuously offers ideas of reflection on the relationship between Paladin and poor art.
An invasion in the relationships between the artist and the American Masters of Pop Art, such as Robert Rauschenberg.
The section set up at the salons of the Rocca Albornoz in Spoleto will be devoted to the famous installation of Sleepy (1998) and will see the sculpture protagonist.
The exhibition dedicated to the Maestro, among the most important exponents of the Italian Transavanguardia, will be a chance for the realization of some non -published urban interventions by the National Gallery of Umbria in collaboration with the municipality of Perugia and the Perugia Foundation. From the end of June on the facade of Palazzo Baldeschi it is possible to admire the work Concert on the squareconceived by Paladino to dress the construction site that will influence the construction of the Perugia Foundation in the coming months, a tribute to the Umbrian traditions that have been revised in a contemporary key.
The magazine will be the reason that will also inspire the artist lights that will make Corso Vannucci shine during the Christmas period for the first time.
