If there’s one thing that keeps people from using their smart rings in the long term, it’s battery life. After all, they’re so unobtrusive that it’s easy to forget to drop them on the charging pad every few days. It won’t be long before your expensive gadget becomes nothing more than a very expensive piece of jewelry. It is one of the many ailments that Ultrahuman wants to tackle with the arrival of its new Pro, a smart ring with a battery life of up to 15 days. It even comes with a nice battery case, which itself holds enough power to last 45 days, making it easier to charge on the go.
Ultrahuman Ring Pro not only has a much larger battery, it has been redesigned from the ground up. The company’s Bhuvan Srinivasan explained that the older hardware had been pushed to its limits, especially in the data it could process. That’s why the Pro comes equipped with a dual-core processor with on-device machine learning to better process the numbers your body is throwing out. The memory has also been increased and can hold up to 250 days of data before it needs to be synced with your smartphone. In addition to improvements to durability, the new ring is also easier to take apart in the hopefully rare event that your finger, or the battery, starts to swell.
I have to admit, after personally seeing a prototype of the Pro Charger back in January, it’s the prettiest way to revive a smart ring I’ve ever seen. While Samsung and Oura have both opted for discreet ring box style hardware, Ultrahuman has created something designed to sit on your bedside table. It doesn’t just take up space for show either, as it includes the aforementioned battery, LED charging indicator, speaker and haptics. It also has the ability to diagnose and address firmware issues to eliminate concerns about firmware issues when bricking devices.

At the same time, Ultrahuman is pulling the covers off Jade, its new “real-time bio-intelligence AI.” The company promises that Jade will be able to “gather real-time actionable insights, and even initiate breathwork or activate Afib detection.” It is expected that Jade will gain new functions over time, with some examples such as ordering correctly, changing the room temperature or signaling potential health problems. The idea is that Jade continuously monitors your health, pulling data from the ring, M1 continuous glucose monitor and environmental statistics from your Ultrahuman Home.
Naturally, we’ll be getting into the Pro for testing and will give our thoughts on how effective all this is once we’ve actually used it for a month or two. But if you’d rather not wait and live outside the US, you can pre-order the Ultrahuman Ring Pro now for $479, with shipping starting in March. If you already have an Ultrahuman Ring, you can also enter into a trade-in deal to reduce the cost of the new model.
