How often do we only have a golf shot wrong to see that the results were great. This happens from time to time and I have had my part of ‘ugly but effective’ golf shots. The reason for the success of an ugly shot is that I have prepared for success. Sometimes we have to accept that the results should happen, regardless of how it happened. In Golf this is a constant during each round. There are happy bounces and those are not what I mean in today’s messages, but other photos that have a positive result. Let me explain it further.
The shots I am talking about would fall out of a bunker to let him hit the lip, bounce in the air and land a few feet from the pen on the green. I intended to hit my ball there, but the process was not in the cards at all. Or I hit my ball fat and see it dripping and rolling on the green close to the pin. Again, not what I meant, but the result was perfect. There are many other examples of these kinds of shots and after many years I think they are part of the game and are not tuches at all.
The full prediction of a shot is intention. Of course we are always planning to put the ball in the hole and rarely happens from the green. However, while I go through my pre-shot routine, I visualize the result that I am planning. The process of seeing the coming shot in my mind is very important to achieve the results I want. If I do not visualize my recording, it is difficult for the universe to offer something that matches my intention. It’s all about concentrating on what we want to happen, not about how.
To be honest, just like all things, we have to perform the process of performing the right golf shot to achieve our desired results. Sometimes the implementation phase breaks down, but we still achieve the results we want. This happens from time to time and I attribute the success of my shot to my pre-shot visualization. Now some of you are skeptics and respect your view of this subject. For me I use a technique that works for my game and I think it would probably help yours.
The next time you are a round, try to visualize your golf shot. This mental process will help to concentrate your intention that should produce better results. As I said before, it works for my game and I will continue visualizing all my shots.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
