Ahead of the scrap, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get the predictions for the bantamweight fight at UFC 324. The pros are slightly leaning towards O’Malley picking up a win to get back on track and prove he’s still a bantamweight title contender.
BJPENN.com Fighter Picks Sean O’Malley vs. Song Yadong:
Modestas Bukauskas, UFC light heavyweight: I think O’Malley himself will have a resurgence. I think he’s motivated to put on a show and prove he’s still that guy, so I think he can pull it off here.
Dustin Jacoby, UFC light heavyweight: I love Song Yadong. His offense is legit, and I think he can have success against Sean in three rounds.
Adam Fugitt, UFC welterweight: I’m going with Sean. I’ve seen him train for this camp, and he’s firing on all cylinders, and I think he’s the better striker than Song. Sean is motivated to make a statement after the losses to Merab and I think he can do that here.
Mario Bautista, UFC bantamweight: I think O’Malley can pull it off. Sean is a sniper, and while Song Yadong is great, Sean is just a better striker and I can see him winning that fight.
Gillian Robertson, UFC strawweight: I’m very interested in it. I think Song will make it. Both are high-level strikers, but I think Song can avoid a decision.
