The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be broken down one Nurmagomedov on Saturday.With the report coming first from MMA Latin America On Thursday, Said Nurmagomedov was forced to withdraw from UFC Vegas 113, also known as UFC Fight Night 266. The Russian bantamweight was booked against Javid Basharat (14-2, 1 NC), the eldest of the Basharat brothers, during the preliminaries for the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. His replacement, Gianni Vazquez (13-5), does confirmed the first news and his status as a new addition to the roster.
Nurmagomedov, who withdrew for currently undisclosed reasons, has struggled to get into the UFC cage since joining the roster in 2018. To date, he has made just eleven walks into the Octagon, with 2022 being the highlight when he made three appearances that year. Since 2023, he has fought twice, losing both appearances to the headliner Vinicius Oliveira and Bryce Mitchell. Whether it’s an injury or a problem for his opponent, Nurmagomedov has seen seven fights fail so far as a member of the UFC.

The debutant Vazquez has roamed the Latin American scene over the years and made his professional debut in May 2014 in his home country of Mexico. The 31-year-old took part in a one-off under the Combate Global banner in 2021, before joining the Fury Fighting Championship and challenging for the promotion’s title. Since falling short of ex-UFC name Edgar Chairez, Vazquez has racked up five wins with Up Next Fighting in California, winning and defending the title before being drafted.The British Basharat will have its back against the wall via Afghanistan on Saturday. After dropping two consecutive matches, along with a no-contest against Victor Henry in 2023, ‘The Snow Leopard’ has now been winless for over three years. Before his setbacks, Basharat entered the promotion undefeated, where he scored a trio of decision victories over Trevin Jones, Tony Gravely and Mateus Mendonca to establish himself in the crowded division.
UFC Fight Night 266, also known as UFC Vegas 113, takes place on February 7 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Bantamweights take center stage in the headliner as Mario Bautista takes on the aforementioned Oliveira. In the co-main attraction, flyweights battle for a shot at gold as Amir Albazi battles Kyoji Horiguchi. Additionally, heavyweights Jailton Almeida and Rizvan Kuniev are set to do battle, and the main card is completed by a middleweight duo pitting Michal Oleksiejczuk against Marc-Andre Barriault, one at 135 pounds between Jean Matsumoto and Farid Basharat and opening with a light heavyweight stunner as Dustin Jacoby faces Julius Walker.
