For the second consecutive week, top-level mixed martial arts makes its home at the Apex for UFC Vegas 111. The main event features welterweight standout Gabriel Bonfim and Randy Brown tango in an exciting, eye-catching matchup. The penultimate fight of the evening pits Ultimate Fighter alum Matt Schnell and Joseph Morales against each other in what will be an exciting flyweight clash.

UFC Vegas 111 main event

Along with his older brother, Ismael, Bonfim has had a meteoric rise in the UFC since they both made their corporate debuts on the same card two years ago. In the time since, “Marretinha” has developed into a powerhouse at 170 pounds, with a 5-1 record in the organization with wins over Trevin Giles, Khaos Williams and Stephen Thompson before UFC Vegas 111.

Brown bounced back in a big way last time out with a highlight-reel knockout of Nicolas Dalby and is now back in the winner’s circle after a disappointing defeat to Bryan Battle last year. Eager to find his way back up the rankings, ‘Rude Boy’ will look to halt the momentum of his speedy Brazilian opponent to prove he is one of the best welterweights in the world.

Morales returned to the promotion after seven years and announced himself as a 125-pound competitor to watch out for when he submitted heavy favorite Alibi Idiris to win the The Ultimate Fighter 33 Championship. With the UFC title his next big goal, “Bopo” will look to launch a dominant warpath towards the top of the flyweight elite with a win at UFC Vegas 111.
