The UFC Vegas 111 main card delivered a packed house, with all five winners getting the job done in the distance during an entertaining evening at the UFC APEX in Sin City.
UFC Vegas 111 power rankings
RDX Sports’Editor-in-chief and experienced MMA writer Simon Head takes a look at the main card winners and presents his Power Rankings for UFC Vegas 111.
1. Christian Leroy Duncan
The former Cage Warriors middleweight champion has steadily honed his skills on the world stage following his ascension to the UFC, and now he appears to be on the verge of a breakthrough.
Duncan has always been a spectacular striker, but over the last few years he has really taken his defensive wrestling to the next level. cling work against the fence as he has worked hard to create more opportunities for his bread and butter – his hitting.
And the latest version of “CLD” showed the final stage in his evolution, as he took on everything Marco Tulio could throw at him, then finished him off in stunning fashion with a spinning backfist followed by a huge right hand as he once again warned that he was facing “CLD” in a set of MMA gloves is a bad idea.
Duncan is making all the right moves, and it may not be long before he’s knocking on the door of the top 15 middleweight ranks.
2. Joseph Morales
Joseph Morales produced another impressive performance, defeating former ranked contender Matt Schnell and putting himself in the frame to face ranked opposition next time.
Morales needed just two minutes and 54 seconds to finish Schnell via guillotine choke as he continued his winning return to competition. Octagon following his previous three-fight stint in 2017-2018.
Morales went 1-2 in the Octagon in that run, but he is now 2-0 since his return, with both wins coming by submission. And if he can continue to produce performances like Saturday’s, Morales will target the division’s elite.
3. Gabriel Bonfim
Some have questioned the manner of the stoppage that gave Gabriel Bonfim a second-round TKO victory over Randy Brown, but ultimately referee Mark Smith’s decision to step in and wait out the fight should have no bearing on how Bonfim’s performance should be viewed.
Bonfim fought smart and showed excellent fighting IQ while staying largely out of danger, gauging Brown’s timing before stepping in and landing power shots to establish his arsenal during a cat-and-mouse first round.
In round 2, Bonfim had set his sights and was making good shots. And when he connected with a huge knee that landed flush on Brown’s chin as he changed levels, ‘Rudeboy’ was sent backwards and to the canvas.
It looked like Brown was gone and only woke up by hitting the canvas. Ref Smith dove in and waved it off, and Bonfim claimed an impressive victory in the second round. Brown’s immediate protests suggest he could have continued, but the knee appeared to have knocked the Jamaican out, so the win seemed fair enough.
Bonfim was already ranked in the UFC’s official welterweight rankings and would have to face someone higher up in the rankings. But with the division looking crowded, finding the right opponent could be a tough job for the UFC matchmakers.
4. Chris Padilla
It’s time for people to stop sleeping on Chris “Taco” Padilla.
The 30-year-old is four fights into his UFC career and is a perfect 4-0 inside the Octagon. He’s also covered all eventualities in his fight results, with one submission, one doctor’s stoppage, one split decision, and on Saturday night, one ground-and-pound TKO finish.
Against Ismael Bonfim, Padilla used his defense and his combat IQ to soak up the best Bonfim could throw at him. Then, perhaps knowing that Bonfim might get hurt as the fight dragged on after losing five pounds, Padilla went to work hammering Bonfim on the body to drain the gas tank, and on the head as he grew exhausted, then finished his Brazilian opponent.
Now on a seven-fight winning streak, Padilla has shown he has the kind of stamina and ruthless approach that can present almost any lightweight problem.
5. Uros Medic
On most other nights, Uros Medic’s performance would have put him higher on the Power Rankings list, but in a fight full of finishes, he sits at fifth on our list this week.
The fight itself was almost over before it had started, but that was all thanks to the razor-sharp work of Medic, who established his reach early and then dropped Muslim Salikhov hard with a ramrod straight left.
It gave Medic an impressive finish as he completed 2025 with a 2-1 record for the year, and carried him into 2026 on a two-fight win streak, with both fights producing finishes.
