For a while Roman Dolidze thought he would then fight against Robert Whittaker. Instead, he gets Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez on top of UFC Vegas 109 this Saturday.
“For a few months they told me that I was fighting Whittaker, but when they announced that Whittaker was fighting the knight, they sent me ‘fluffy’ the next day,” said Dolidze (15-3) during the UFC Vegas 109 Media Day of this week in Las Vegas.
Although he has been booked against Hernandez, the Georgian middle weight believes that both themselves and ‘fluffy’ enemies earn with a higher profile, or at least rank.
“I think we both earn better opponents, rankedBut it’s how is. I am [happy] With the organization anyway, and when I am [happy]I just assume what they offer. “
Dolidze no longer interests the Whittaker fight, he added. “I think that for now, Whittaker, I don’t want to sound bad, but not so interesting for the future of my career. So after this victory, someone from the top five.”
Whittaker recently made a decision to get the knight in Reinier, who undoubtedly removed part of the shine of the coupling.
Asked for Hernandez, acknowledged Dolidze that “he is dealing with very good opponents, he is a very good hunter and he is also a very good person. I met him in the hotel yesterday.” The 37-year-old, who is sitting on a three-field win-streak, added: “I think he was confronted with good opponents, but he was never confronted with someone with wrestling like me. And we all know he has a good cardio and he likes to be on the ground and I don’t have a rest. I am very active on the ground.”
