UFC Rio Facts & Figures After Exciting October 11th Card!

UFC Rio is in the books and with it, a former champion has regained his place in the win column in exciting fashion. Charles Oliveira returned to action after previously being knocked out at UFC 317 by Ilia Topuria and dazzled the crowd in his home country of Brazil by knocking out Mateusz Gamrot.


In the penultimate fight on the card, former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo took home a competitive split decision over the streaking Montel Jackson, giving him his first win at 135 pounds in more than a year.

UFC Rio: Kaan ofli Def. Richard Ramos

His victory over Ramos was his first non-exhibition victory since February 2023. He was previously on a two-fight losing streak, with upsets to Mairon Santos and Muhammad Naimov.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt has now won six of his 12 victories as a professional by submission. It was also his first win in the UFC since joining the promotion last year

Ricardo Ramos

Ramos’ UFC Rio loss to Kaan Ofli is the fourth tapout loss of his professional career, all coming in the first round. He is now on a two-match losing skid, having not raised his hand since earning a split-decision victory over Josh Culibao more than a year ago.

His UFC record now stands at 8-7

UFC Rio: Mario Pinto def. Jonathan Diniz

Pinto’s UFC Rio victory over Diniz was his eleventh straight win. It’s also his third straight stoppage after knocking out Lucas Camacho in the Contender Series and Austin Lane in his company debut.

He has not lost a match since competing in his last appearance as an amateur in 2020.

Jonathan Diniz

Diniz’s loss to Pinto is his first defeat since November last year, after previously defeating promotional debutant Alvin Hines at UFC 317. The defeat was also the second setback in his career

He is now 2-2 in his last four games.

UFC Rio: Joel Álvarez def. Vicente Luque

Alvarez’s victory over Luque was his fourth straight defeat after losing to Arman Tsarukyan at UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Green in 2022. The fight was also his first appearance at welterweight after previously competing at both featherweight and lightweight.

The win over Luque ended his 100 percent record after earning stoppages in all of his past 23 wins.

Vicente Luque

Luque’s loss to Álvarez was his second straight loss after losing to Kevin Holland at UFC 316 earlier this year. He has now lost seven of his 12 professional bouts by decision.

His UFC record now stands at 16-8.

UFC Rio: Deiveson Figueiredo def. Montel Jackson

Figueiredo’s UFC Rio win over Jackson ended a previous two-fight losing streak after dropping a pair of bouts to Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen. As of August 2024, he is now returning to the winners circle after beating Marlon Vera.

His appearance at UFC Rio was his sixth appearance at bantamweight in the UFC after moving up from flyweight to the weight class in 2023. It will also be his first time competing at UFC 283 in Brazil since January 2023.

Montel Jackson

His loss to Figueiredo ended his previous six-fight winning streak that dates back more than five years. It was also the first time in his martial arts career that he ever lost a mixed martial arts fight by split decision, making it the third loss in his professional tenure to come via the scorecards.

His UFC record now stands at 9-3.

Oliveira’s victory over Gamrot is his 36th victory as a professional. It was his first victory by submission since knocking out Justin Gaethje at UFC 274 in 2022. It also extended its lead in some of the UFC’s most prestigious records, including most submission wins at 17, most post-fight awards at 21 and most finishes at 21.

Mateusz Gamrot

Gamrot’s loss to Oliveira is his first since coming up short against Dan Hooker at UFC 305 last year. It also marked the first setback in his martial arts career.

He is now 2-2 in his last four games. His UFC record stands at 8-4.
