Tyrell Malacia comes closer to leaving Manchester United for the end of the summer transfer window on Monday 1 September.
Malacia attracts interest in the deadline day
Malacia has never really started at United since he came to the club in the summer of 2022 as the first signing of Erik ten Hag.
He enjoyed a decent debut season, but his progress was stopped by a serious knee injury at the end, leaving him offside for over a year.
Dutch International suffered several setbacks during his recovery. He returned to the action of the first team in November 2024, but found it difficult to break into the plans of Ruben Amorim. Malacia only played seven times under Amorim before he was sent on loan to PSV Eindhoven in January.
But it was not a successful loan because he played 12 times for the club. Malacia is part of the infamous ‘bump team’ of United and the club is pushing hard to load him for the deadline day.
There has been no shortage of interest in him, because AS Roma and Porto thought they would like to add him to their ranks.
Now journalist Matteo Moretto has indicated that two more clubs have come into battle for the United Defender – Elche and Lille.

According to Moretto, Elche is working on completing a deal for Malacia, while Lille also monitors the situation.
Moretto wrote on X: “Elche is working on the loan of Tyrell Malacia, left back of Manchester United.”
“Other clubs, including Lille, chase him too.”

It is still unclear whether United would be open to let Malacia leave loan.
The 26-year-old contract will be next summer, so this window represents the best chance of getting some money from saying goodbye to him.
