Two late additions strengthen the ONE Fight Night 39 card after injury withdrawals

Injuries forced ONE Championship into a last-minute scramble. The promotion responded with two convincing substitutions that kept Friday’s momentum going.

Vladimir Kuzmin meets newcomer Mohanad Battbootti in featherweight Muay Thai action, while Mohammad Siasarani takes on Pedro Dantas in featherweight kickboxing at A Fighting Night 39 on Friday, January 23 in Bangkok, the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand. The additions fill gaps left when Sean Climaco suffered a foot injury and Lucas Gabriel withdrew from his lightweight MMA fight against Magomed Akaev.

Kuzmin brings three years of ONE Championship experience to the showdown against the undefeated Iraqi challenger. Fight Club’s 28-year-old Russian striker Archangel Michael made his promotional debut in February 2022. He scored a convincing unanimous decision over Chris Shaw. Two close decision losses followed against Muangthai PK Saenchai and Jonathan Haggerty. They proved that despite the defeats, he is among the division’s elites.

Three wins in his next four outings made Kuzmin a durable competitor who consistently takes fights over the distance. His experience against top-level opposition provides valuable firepower against Battbootti, who enters his ONE debut with an unblemished professional record of 11-0. The 23-year-old newcomer faces an immediate step up in competition against the battle-tested Russian.

Mohammad Siasarani makes US primetime debut against Pedro Dantas

Mohammad Siasarani earned his moment through patience. The 23-year-old Team Mehdi Zatout fighter compiled an impressive 8-2 promotional record with victories over Jo Nattawut, Mohammed Boutasaa, Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, Liu Mengyang and Kaito Ono.

His six-figure major contract came after he knocked out Nattawut in spectacular fashion last December at ONE Friday Fights 137. The second-round finish ended a four-fight winning streak that showcased his evolution from raw toughness to calculated finishing ability. His primetime debut in the US provides a platform to showcase his skills to the global fan base.

Pedro Dantas is aiming for his first promotion win after a challenging start in ONE Championship. The 22-year-old Brazilian arrived with an impeccable 6-0 record and a perfect finishing percentage as a second-generation MMA fighter. His promotional debut in featherweight MMA action against Ibragim Dauev resulted in a hard-fought unanimous decision defeat. Switching to kickboxing for his first all-out bout under the ONE banner gives Dantas the chance to secure his breakthrough victory and build momentum in a new discipline.
