Happy first day of Spring Training to everyone celebrating. Baseball season is finally here.
On Thursday, February 12, the Minnesota Twins pitchers and catchers arrived in Fort Myers, Florida, to mark the first day of Spring Training for the 2026 season. It’s a clean slate. We can block the seasonal forecasts. Concerns about the roster may be put to rest as Twins players enjoy sunny Florida weather for the first time.
We’re just happy that baseball has taken the first step of the new year.

The Minnesota Twins pitchers and catchers report to Fort Myers on February 12
While there will be some short bullpen sessions and players reacclimating to a baseball schedule, we won’t see a game broadcast until February 20 (the full schedule is here). The Twins will play their first spring game against the University of Minnesota before playing the Red Sox on February 21 and the Braves on February 22 in the first weekend of live games. The spring games last until March 24.
We’ll take some time over the next week to enjoy the social media content as players continue to roll into the Lee Health Sports Complex.
Familiar faces in new places
The Twins brought back two former Twins in the past week. Veteran Gio Urshela signed a minor league deal at the start of the week as fans hope he can be a solid backup to Royce Lewis at third base. Urshela hit .285 in 2022, his lone season with Minnesota before playing for the Angels, Athletics and Tigers before returning.
Hall of Famer Paul Molitor is also rejoining the Twins. He will be a TV analyst for Minnesota this season, alongside some other Twins legends like Justin Morneau.
Another one former Twin returning to the organization is Liam Hendrikswho had signed a minor league contract. Hendriks, 37, started his MLB career with Minnesota and pitched to an ERA of 6.06 in three seasons.
