For the Eurobasket 2025 tournament, Turkey was in group A. It also contained Serbia, Latvia, Portugal, Estonia and the Czech Republic. They went undefeated in group game. Missing a strong team like Serbia with top-NBA talent such as Nikola Jokic. Turkey defeated Sweden in the round of 16. During their first six games, Alps Sengun is an average of 22.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists. He is far away the top player of Turkey.
In the quarterfinals vs. Poland had Sengun its best performance so far in Eurobasket. He ended with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a 91-77 victory. Alpen Sengun became the youngest player in the history of Eurobasket to record a Triple-Double. He joins Luka Doncic as the second player who records a Triple-Double in Eurobasket.

Moreover, it is the first time since 1995 that several players have included a Triple-Double in the same Eurobasket tournament. Before Sengun’s Triple-Double vs. Poland had only included four players a Triple-Double in Eurobasket. The list including Luka Doncic, Mateusz Ponitka, Andrei Mandache, An Tony Kukoc.
Alps Sengun and his Turkish teammates are waiting for Lithuania and Greece to play. Once that match has been decided, they will play the winner of that match this Friday 12 September. The Greeks have Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo on their schedule. He would be a difficult matchup for Sengun and Turkey.
