After his final fight with Rodrigo Sezinando, UFC 319 was pushed back, Donchenko (12-2) received the job in a round at Nouch UFC on Saturday. The Knock -Out victory marks the entry from Donchenko to the UFC and is exactly what he had hoped for.
“The way I had ended the fight, as I fought, it is exactly how to enter the UFC. I am happy that I did very well tonight,” he told media including Cageside Press Backstage after the game. “Now all fans will know, if I will start a fight in the UFC -Oachthoek, it will be cheeky.”
Brutal is something he was already known for, Donchenko added. But now it is in the UFC, on a larger platform. “I started making my image, my photo on the UFC in a good way. And it’s exactly how I am.”
When asked about the experience of fighting in the Octagon for the first time, the new TUF champion admitted that “I am so sad that I don’t have cool UFC noche gloves, only black.” However, he would add that “it’s great.” Although Donchenko noted that every hunter dreams of reaching the UFC, he did not feel overwhelmed on Saturday. “It was like my octagon. Nothing new, it was already mine. I was at home, I am like a fish in the water in this octagon.”
