The rain is expected to arrive in the DC area just in time for the evening commute on Tuesday.
A cool and cloudy Tuesday is expected to turn wet with showers reaching the DC area.
“High temperatures will be in the 40s this afternoon and wet weather will spread across most of the DMV just in time for the rush hour commute. We will see pockets of moderate to heavier rain later tonight,” said 7News First Alert Meteorologist Steve Rudin.
The rain is expected to arrive in the afternoon and become more steady during the day.
“It will be soggy this evening and night and we could get as much as an inch of much-needed rain in the mid-Atlantic,” Rudin said.
Already cold temperatures are forecast to drop into the high 30s tonight.
The persistent rain should clear by 7am. But drizzle could put a damper on Wednesday morning’s commute.
Wednesday is expected to be windy, cloudy and cold, with temperatures starting in the low 40s and warming to the mid 50s by the afternoon.
Thursday seems to be the next dry day according to the weather forecasts. There may be some rain showers on Friday, but this is not expected to be the case.
