Bluenose Belle ran an excellent second at Ludlow yesterday on ground that was far from ideal. She settled at the back of the field, traveled and jumped much better on the nicer ground on the outside and challenged in the straight but was beaten by a well-handicapped winner. She’ll get a bit of a kick out of this run and hopefully we can find something a little more fun for her next outing.

We have decided to withdraw the Sumatran Tiger from the Mares Novices handicap hurdle as the ground deteriorated during the afternoon and we will consider her entry at Doncaster on Friday.

Hopefully Little Big Kev (pictured) will walk with credit after a break at Market Rasen tomorrow at 12.50pm. Neeps and Tatties will also compete in the obstacle for mare beginners in Uttoxeter on Thursday. She showed great promise in her bumper debut in Hereford but returned with a stress fracture. However, she seems to enjoy jumping and if she settles down properly she should repay her owner’s patience this season.
