Elfride will run in the three mile handicap hurdle tomorrow at 1.13pm in Uttoxeter. She has won course and distance in the past and Harry Atkins takes the ride and claims seven pounds. She ran well in her recent comeback run at Exeter and looks in good form at home.
Agent Argylle (pictured) showed plenty of promise in the bumper at Wetherby on Saturday, coming into contention at a slow pace down the straight. He held on well and was beaten just over seven lengths by the useful winner. We look forward to him developing into a continued hurdler and fighter in the future and he seems like a useful candidate.
Smile Back ran a brave second place behind a very well handicapped winner at Leicester on Sunday. She set the pace well, stayed on the straight and will benefit from a step up in the trip in the future. It was great that one of her owners, Karen Anderson, was able to make the trip from the US to see Smile and Tech That run.
Hidden Target was a decent fourth in a hot novice hurdle at Doncaster yesterday. After finishing fourth on his debut at Chepstow, he is now entitled to a handicap rating which will boost his options in the future. Softer ground would suit him and we look forward to finding a suitable opportunity for him in the new year.
Tech That dropped back in the trip at Doncaster and finished the race at a gallop, which was our intention, after fading on his comeback run at Uttoxeter. He’s looked early and it’s quite possible we’ll take him further on the trip and ride him more prominently in the future, but it was good to get him back on track as he’s shown useful bumper and hurdle form in the past.
